Our Teachers are passionate about and dedicated to helping and inspiring blind and visually impaired children, young people and adults to learn to play woodwind and brass instruments, but there are a number of on-going specialist items we need to buy or produce in order to perpetuate the teaching process.
Here are a few examples:-

SPECIALIST BLIND & VISUALLY-IMPAIRED MASTER COPIES
The needs for our on-going work involves producing various "Master" pieces of specially arranged Music, Audio Backing Tracks and Audio CD Tutors (Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced) to enable our blind and visually impaired pupils to learn to play in a way that works for them.
These are all "one-off" Masters of each piece of music and their accompanying Audio Backing Tracks or Master Audio Tutors that can then be copied in perpetuum to give to any number of pupils.
The cost of producing these one-off Masters are shown here:-
A) The production of specially adapted Master Musical Arrangements for the pupils to learn to play
at £180 per master arrangement. We are currently working on twelve such arrangements.
B) The production of specially adapted Master Backing Tracks for the pupils to practise with at £240
per Master Backing Track and we're working on twelve of these to link
with the above Musical Arrangements.
C) The production of a new Master Beginners' Audio Tutor CD/USB for lesson and home use at £650.
D) The production of a new Master Intermediate Audio Tutor CD/USB for lesson and home use at £790.
E) The production of a new Master Advanced Audio Tutor CD/USB for lesson and home use at £910.
With all of the above achieved we can continue to teach our young blind and visually-impaired pupils
with their new pieces of music, with specialist woodwind and brass teacher costs being £42 per hour:-
G) £42 enables a pupil to have a lesson for an hour
H) £420 enables a pupil to have a Term of 10 lessons
I) £1,260 enables a pupil to have 30 lessons for a full academic year
J) For £440 we can buy a Saxophone, or £180 for a Trumpet or Cornet, or £240 for a Clarinet or Flute
and modify it with Braille to help a child/adult learn that much quicker. We also mark pupils'
instruments and instrument cases with Braille labels so when playing in group lessons or in a
Band and their instruments are put down for a break, everyone knows which
instrument and case is theirs.
It's the little but important things like this we do that make all the difference.
